After a couple of conversations I had with people it strikes me that I should give you a bit of an explanation about why Nottingham's Girl Geek Dinners is a ticket only event and why the ticket sales end 24 hours before the event.
Nottingham Girl Geek Dinners aren't run by a company, we currently aren't being sponsored (this is our first event after all) and we don't get a grant or anything like that. Quite simply there is just me and my enthusiasm, so any costs incurred have to be covered by me personally, that includes food. So if I were to just gather a list of expected attendees and then there were five 'no-shows' that would be £50 out of my pocket. I am not in a situation where I can absorb that cost every month, so I have to ask you to buy a ticket in advance in order to run this event.
